- Click the X on the shelf.
- YouTube tells you the shelf will be hidden for 30 days.

How do I hide YouTube Shorts with Feed Diet?
Write the rule “No Shorts.” on the YouTube tab of the Feed Diet side panel and click Save. Feed Diet then hides or blurs Shorts cards in the YouTube home feed, in search results, and in the sidebar next to a video. It covers a Short you open from a link too.
No Shorts.
- Add Feed Diet to Chrome.
- Click the Feed Diet icon in the toolbar. The side panel opens on the YouTube tab.
- Type No Shorts. and click Save.
- Choose Blur or Hide. Blur covers a Short, and one click shows it. Hide removes it.
The rule stays on until you change it. There is no 30-day timer.
Can I keep some YouTube Shorts and hide the rest?
Yes. Add an exception to your Feed Diet rule in plain words, such as “No Shorts, except cooking.” Feed Diet reads each card, keeps the cooking Shorts, and hides the rest.
No Shorts, except cooking.
You can mix Shorts with other topics too: “No Shorts and no reaction videos.”
Does Feed Diet remove the Shorts button from YouTube’s menu?
No. Feed Diet works on the video cards, so the Shorts button in YouTube’s left menu stays, and so does the heading of the Shorts shelf.
Questions
Does Feed Diet hide Shorts in the YouTube app on my phone?
No. Feed Diet is a Chrome extension, so it works in Chrome on a computer, not in the YouTube phone app.
Is Feed Diet free?
Feed Diet has a 7-day free trial, with no account needed for the first 3 days. After that, Pro is $5 a month or $50 a year. See pricing.
Does every Short count toward Pro’s 100,000 a month?
Yes. Each Short card Feed Diet judges counts as one, like any post or video. A card Feed Diet has already judged comes from a local cache and does not count again. The 7-day free trial runs on days, not counts.
How do I get YouTube Shorts back?
Delete the rule, or switch Feed Diet off for YouTube in the side panel, and Shorts come back at once.
